Brief Description of the Project
The ActiVas project constitutes a disruptive and diversified response to the challenges addressed by the aging of the population, one of the greatest challenges of today’s societies, in terms of the environment and built spaces. In this context, the built environment (our habitat) – as a space where this fringe of the population tends to spend more time consecutively – plays a crucial role in combating isolation and providing a greater and better quality of life. However, it does not take into account the needs for specific support and care in the elderly, active aging and the use/integration of technologies or solutions available to support different needs. Specifically, the aging of the population and the gradual increase in the average life expectancy make it possible to highlight critical needs at the habitat level that led to the definition of the main objectives of the project:

Thus, the ActiVas project arises with the purpose of developing a set of innovative technological and multidisciplinary solutions for an Active, Safe and Healthy Life, which, as a whole and individually, will contribute to the definition and optimization of a new concept of habitat, also ” senior-friendly”, providing this growing section of the population with the necessary autonomy and security so that they can enjoy a greater and better quality of life. These solutions are addressed, nationally and internationally, to various market segments such as residential, but also to spaces in the “hospitality” segment (hospitals, senior centers, nursing homes, hotels, etc.).
